CROSSWORD MYSTERIES Lacey Chabert Plays Down Hopes Of More?

Lacey Chabert attended Christmas Con this weekend and the subject of our beloved Crossword Mysteries came up during a panel.

Her answer when a fan asked about the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries title like a goodbye. That is our opinion though and other publications still seem to hang on to hope. You should be the judge for yourself:

“I’m really proud of the five movies and I love where they’ve taken the characters, finally solving the murder and having a romantic ending. They are really fun but it’s been a year and a half since we made one and I don’t know what the future holds for Crossword exactly. We’ll just have to wait and see.”

Her co-star in the series Brennan Elliott was also on the panel at Christmas Con. The actor stated that he hoped they would get to work together on more projects. The two have quite the onscreen history, their other film series All of My Heart saw their characters get married in the latest instalment.

Given her recent new deal with Crown Media and her status as one the premiere stars of the network if Lacey wanted more Crossword then there would be more. It seems more likely that there will be future collaboration with Brennan but in a new title.

Chabert debuted her latest Hallmark romantic comedy Groundswell at Christmas Con. It is based on the book by Katie Lee Biegel.

Christmas Con California took place on August 5, 6 & 7 at the Pasadena Convention Center in Pasadena, CA. Over 30 guests including headliner Lacey Chabert attended the event.

Were you like us hoping for more Crossword Mysteries? Are you still clinging on desperately to that hope. It feels like the powers that be want to move in another direction. Perhaps a limit to the number of mystery titles that are in production at once? We still hold out hope for some sort of definitive statement to end all this speculation.
