Fresh from Brazil’s CCXP we have the new trailer for The Boys Season 4.
The Boys is based on the adult comic book series of the same name Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. It is set in a world with superheroes out in the open and all ostensibly controlled by a mega corporation Vought Industries. With superheroes marketed as celebrities and often violently misbehaving the Boys led by Butcher (Karl Urban) are the only people capable of opposing them.
In Season Four, the world is on the brink, Victoria Neuman is closer than ever to the Oval Office and under the muscly thumb of Homelander, who is consolidating his power. Butcher, with only months to live, has lost Becca’s son as well as his job as The Boys’ leader. The rest of the team are fed up with his lies. With the stakes higher than ever, they have to find a way to work together and save the world before it’s too late.”

The Boys takes things to a whole new level in Season 4. From the trailer we see a new character speaking to Homelander (Anthony Starr) on the best way to rule. Not menacing at all then. We also see that the public has split between two factions centred around Starlight and Homelander. Arguably The Boys is at its best when it comes uncomfortably against real life politics. This season seems to be cranking that aspect up to 11.
The Boys Season 4 will debut on Prime Video sometime in 2024.
