Murderbot will be back for Season 2 with Apple TV+ confirming the renewal before the Season 1 finale.

Murderbot centers on a self-hacking security android (Alexander Skarsgård) who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. The android must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.
The show is based on the series of Sci-Fi books by Martha Wells. The first season is an adaptation of the novella.

“We’re so grateful for the response that Murderbot has received, and delighted that we’re getting to go back to Martha Wells’ world to work with Alexander, Apple, CBS Studios and the rest of the team.”
Murderbot stars Alexander Skarsgård, David Dastmalchian, Noma Dumezweni, Sabrina Wu, Tattiawna Jones, Akshay Khanna and Tamara Podemski.
Filming took place in Toronto, with Season 1 filming from 18 March 2024 through to 27 June 2024.
In addition to starring in the series, Skarsgård also serves as an executive producer. Murderbot is created by Chris and Paul Weitz, who are also the showrunners. Murderbot hails from CBS Studios. Andrew Miano also executive produces for Depth of Field. David S. Goyer executive produces alongside Keith Levine for Phantom Four. Wells serves as consulting producer.
