Cerebral sci-fi mind-bender, VOLITION, has been picked up by Showtime for US streaming, beginning March 3rd, 2021.
This marks another milestone in the indie gem’s release. After winning Best Feature at the Philip K. Dick Film Festival, VOLITION went on to premiere on VOD in July 2020. There it earned impressive reviews and an 88% Rotten Tomatoes score.
Variety calls the film, “Succinctly propulsive,” The Hollywood Reporter deems it “An ingeniously constructed puzzler” while the New York Times raves it as a “Clever puzzle… Cousin to ‘Memento’ and ‘Timecrimes.’”
VOLITION is the debut feature directed by award-winning Tony Dean Smith, based on a screenplay written by Tony Dean Smith & Ryan W. Smith.
It is a gritty sci-fi thriller, about a man, afflicted with clairvoyance, who tries to change his fate when a series of events leads to a vision of his own murder.
The film stars Adrian Glynn McMorran and Magda Apanowicz. Also appearing are Snowpiercer’s Aleks Paunovic, John Cassini, Frank Cassini and Bill Marchant. Smith Brothers and Paly Productions have released the film through Giant Pictures.
