The entertainment industry is relentless, sometimes even in a good way so let’s review some of the projects currently filming in Vancouver.
Rescued by Ruby
Rescued by Ruby is an upcoming film from Netflix shooting in the Vancouver area this month and through summer. Calling on the star power of The Flash’s own Grant Gustin, the film is an adaption of a true story of a dog named Rudy. Initially a difficult shelter dog, once Ruby comes into the life of State Trooper Dan (Gustin) both of their lives are
forever changed.
Space Force
Netflix’ Space Force has relocated to Vancouver for its season two principal shooting. Steve Carell alongside Greg Daniels. created the series. Carell also stars as General Mark Naird. The comedy scored a season two renewal almost immediately after its first season release in May 2020.
Yellowjackets
Showtime’s Yellowjackets is filming in Vancouver this June for its first season, with production expected to continue into September. The series stars Christina Ricci, Juliette Lewis, Melanie Lynskey and Tawny Cypress among others. The story line will follow a group of female soccer players who end up stranded after their plane crashes in the wilderness.
Supergirl
The Girl of Steel is still in Vancouver, the final season of the Arrowverse show films throughout. Not much is known about how things will end with Kara Zor El as the show bows out. Will Supergirl live through her finale? We can only tune in and find out.
Chesapeake Shores
Hallmark’s Chesapeake Shores returns to Vancouver for its fifth season of the Hallmark series with filming expected to continue into the summer months. The series focuses on single mother Abby O’Brien, played by British Columbia native Meghan Ory (Once Upon A Time).
