Chad L Coleman (The Expanse) has joined the cast of Superman & Lois season 3.
Coleman has previously appeared in Arrow where he played notorious crime boss Tobias Whale. More recently he recurred on The Orville as Klyden. The casting was revealed earlier this month during a panel at DragonCon. At the panel David Ramsey, Arrowverse veteran and Superman & Lois director broke the news.
He will play the Bruno Manheim, known in DC Comics as a head of criminal organisation Intergang. Here is the official description:
“Bruno Mannheim is known to most of Metropolis as a local hero, a philanthropist who’s revived the struggling neighborhoods of the city. For years, Lois Lane has worked to prove that behind that facade is a career criminal and the head of the notorious organization Intergang. With some new leads, she might be closer than ever.”
Superman & Lois showrunner Todd Helbing spoke to TVline in June:
“We knew we wanted to have our version of Intergang in this show, and we originally thought it would happen sooner than Season 3. Like all of the villains in the Superman mythos, we want to keep doing what we’ve been doing, which is to take a classic villain and reinvent them as best we can, to make them compelling and grounded and tie them into [the show].”
Joining Chad L Coleman will be Australian actor Michael Bishop who is taking over the role of Jonathan Kent. Jordan Elsass who played the character previously decided not to return for Season 3.
