A number of the show’s cast have given their reaction to news of the final season. Doug Jones who plays Saru had this to say to the Syfy Sistas podcast:
I’m going to get emotional… I’ve hugged a thousand of you at least… To be in this environment with all the hugs and love has been an absolute treat for me. We had a very tearful Zoom call this morning before the news hit. I was on a Zoom call with our producers and my castmates. So Sonequa [Martin-Green] gives you all of her love. And my co-star Tara Rosling, who plays T’Rina my love interest, she says to tell you to all to “party on.”… So, it’s been an absolute joy, but once in the Star Trek family, always in the Star Trek family.Doug Jones on the Syfy Sistas podcast

You have charted the stars far beyond where our imaginations had ever taken us. In so doing, you have accomplished the mission: you have changed many lives, including mine. I love you, always.
