Hallmark Channel have stabled their modern Western family drama Ride.
Ride followed the lives of the McMurrays, part of a rodeo dynasty going back a generation. We follow their story as they struggle to keep their beloved ranch afloat in Colorado. Three strong women – widowed rodeo queen Missy (Tiera Skovbye), matriarch Isabel (Nancy Travis) and former teen run-away Valeria (Sara Garcia) – resolved to save their land, come what may.
The show aired alongside The Way Home which received a renewal order earlier this year.
Here is a trailer for the first season.
The finale aired on May 28 and found Cash (played by Mirchoff) riding the bull that killed his brother Austin. After Cash won, Austin’s widow, Missy (Skovbye), confronted him about his feelings for her, leading the two to share their first kiss. But when he and Missy’s other love interest, Gus (Moore) — who had told Missy that he was falling in love with her — both later showed up at Missy’s door, she was gone, having opted for a new trick riding gig in Albuquerque.
Ride stars Nancy Travis, Tiera Skovbye, Beau Mirchoff, Sara Garcia, Tyler Jacob Moore, Jake Foy, Vasilios Filippakis, Greg Lawson, Dylan Neal, and Isla Spencer.
The project filmed in locations around Calgary which stands in for the show’s setting of Colorado. Filming took place last year between 4 August 2022 and 23 November 2022.
Producer companies included Seven24Films, Intelite Entertainment, Circle of Confusion, PDM Entertainment and Hallmark Channel. Rebecca Boss, Chris Masi and Sherri Cooper-Landsman were the showrunners.
