
Devery Jacobs (Marvel’s Echo) will be honoured at ATX TV Fest 2024 with the Breakthrough Award.

The Breakthrough Award is given to a creative “whose voice has made a distinct impact on the current moment in TV and whose work exemplifies the emotional, entertaining, and artistic possibilities of the medium”. The festival announced this news earlier today.
As part of the festival Jacobs will sit down for a one on one talk. The discussion likely to feature her work on Reservoir Dogs, Echo and indie film Backspot. Jacobs is a writer, director and actor as well as a producer on Backspot which she also stars in.
Kawennáhere Devery Jacobs is a First Nations (Kahnawa:ke Mohawk) award-winning actor and filmmaker. Her breakout leading role in Rhymes for Young Ghouls earned a nomination for a Canadian Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role. Recently she starred opposite Priya Guns in romance This Place which she co-wrote.
ATX TV Fest
The fest also will announce live TV-themed episode taping of The Ringer’s original podcast Trial By Content with hosts Joanna Robinson, Dave Gonzales and Neil Miller. As well as additional industry panels with creatives including Mike Flanagan and Kate Siegel (The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass), Angelique Midthunder (Reservation Dogs), Stacey Rice (Reservation Dogs) and Jeanie Bacharach (The Bear). Actor Toby Huss will also join the previously announced Halt and Catch Fire Retrospective. He joins fellow cast members Kerry Bishé and Scoot McNairy.
Badges for the event are now on sale at atxfestival.com. Badges range in price from $150-$535, with single tickets for select events going on sale closer to the festival dates.
ATX Festival 2024 runs from 30 May through 2 June 2024 and takes place in Austin, Texas
