Einstein starring Matthew Gray Gubler will see its production moved from Toronto to Montreal.
Lew Einstein (Matthew Gray Gubler), the brilliant but directionless great grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor at Princeton until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective solve her most puzzling cases.
The pilot earned a pickup for 2025 but was held back for CBS for a season to get better prepared for its first season. Unfortunately the delay to the show meant that co-star Rosa Salazar has now left the series, she played the police detective working with Lew. No word yet on a new actor for that role.

The series is an adaptation of the German series of the same name that starred Tom Beck.
Andrew Brockman will serve as showrunner on the series. He previously worked on Monk. Filming will begin next month and will run from 23 March 2026 through to 13 August 2026.
