THE ROOKIE: NORTH Gets Series Order Films In BC

The second spinoff of The Rookie, The Rookie: North received a series order at ABC.

The Rookie: North follows Alex Holland (Jay Ellis), who believed his midlife wasn’t worthy of a crisis. But after a violent home invasion ignites a dormant purpose, Alex battles a lifetime of failed commitments in Los Angeles by joining the Pierce County Police Department in Washington as its oldest rookie.

Policing from the urban coast to the rural forest where backup isn’t just five minutes away, Alex must prove to his skeptical training officer, his fellow rookies and himself that he’s finally found something worthy of the fight.

Jay Ellis, Chris Sullivan, Froy Gutierrez, Janet Montgomery, Karen Fukuhara, Mya Lowe, Malik Watson.

The Pilot filmed in Vancouver but we don’t have details on where filming on the series will take place.

Nathan Fillion features as his character John Nolan in the spinoff’s pilot episode which filmed in Vancouver this past Winter.

Alexi Hawley is the showrunner on the series with Nathan Fillion, Mark Gordon Pictures, Lionsgate Television and 20th Television producing. That means that Hawley will be doing double duty with him being showrunner on The Rookie.
