Cozy mystery series You’re Killing Me will move their production from Nova Scotia to Toronto.

In the quaint New England town of Founders’ Cove, a bestselling novelist (Brooke Shields) forms an unlikely alliance with an aspiring writer and true crime podcaster (Amalia Williamson), to find the killer of a close friend. As more murders pile up, the pair of amateur sleuths clash with a local police detective (Tom Cavanagh).
The show’s first season filmed in Nova Scotia. It is unclear whether there will be some filming on location done there. You’re Killing Me is an original series from creator Robin Bernheim for Acorn TV.
The series follows three major characters:
- Brooke Shields as Allie Chandler, a famous mystery novelist. She returns to her hometown of Founders Cover for a writers convention and is drawn into a real-life whodunit after her friend and critic Nash Gilbert dies in a fall.
- Amalia Williamson as Andii Wallace, a brash true-crime podcaster who was once an up-and-coming celebrity, until she lost it all.
- Tom Cavanagh as Jack, the new lead detective of the Founders Cove Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.
Filming for Season 2 will run from 14 September 2026 through to November 2026. Did you watch You’re Killing Me Season 1? What did you think? Why not let the community here at Hollywood North News know in the comments.
