Wapanatahk Media unveils new docuseries UNSETTLED SPIRITS

Wapanatahk Media, a Vancouver-based Indigenous female-led production company, is thrilled to announce Season 1 of its news docuseries Unsettled Spirits will premiere September 2, 2026.

Unsettled Spirits follows spiritually gifted paranormal investigators Amanda Quill and Jesi Whitton as they lead their teams into mysterious locations where eerie phenomena are unfolding, seeking answers from the spirit world. In each episode, they combine traditional Indigenous knowledge with modern investigative technology to explore unexplained phenomena, from cursed cafés and haunted mansions to shadowy spirits and poltergeists.

Season 1 features 13 episodes, with new episodes airing every Wednesday at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT in English on APTN and at 10 p.m. ET / 7 p.m. PT in Cree on APTN Languages. Both the English and Cree versions will be available for same-day streaming on APTN+.

Team Amanda

Amanda Quill (Cree) has decades of paranormal investigation experience and is a respected voice in the supernatural community. Having appeared on numerous television series, podcasts and radio programs exploring unexplained phenomena. A survivor of the Sixties Scoop, the foster care system and the legacy of residential schools, Amanda’s own journey of loss, resilience and reconnection has shaped both her life and her work. She is joined by her son, Nathan Thompson (Cree), who is the Tech Lead and by Apprentice Kayla Black (Anishinaabe/Chinese).

Team Jesi

Jesi Whitton (Cree) is a psychic medium, paranormal investigator and member of the Louis Bull Tribe in Maskwacis, Alberta. A mother, Kokom (grandmother), student and respected spiritual practitioner, she possesses strong clairsentient abilities that allow her to connect deeply with both the living and the spirit world. Jesi is joined by Tech Lead Brandon Belong. He is a member of the Kyuquot First Nation located on Vancouver Island, and Aiyesha Fraser. Aiyesha is from the Anaham Reserve in Northern British Columbia’s Chilcotin Nation, and is a Medicine Woman, Energy Worker and Spiritual Healer.
