Let’s take a look at the upcoming CW drama The Republic of Sarah before it premieres in the summer.
In The Republic of Sarah when faced with the destruction of her town at the hands of a greedy mining company, rebellious high school teacher Sarah Cooper utilizes an obscure cartographical loophole to declare independence.
Now Sarah must lead a young group of misfits as they attempt to start their own country from scratch. Stella Baker will play Sarah Cooper. Baker’s Sarah is a quintessential New Hampshirite: friendly, fiercely loyal and always willing to lend a hand. Although hesitant to be in the spotlight at first, Sarah finds the courage to step up and fight back against an external force that threatens to destroy her beloved community.
Daniel Di Tomasso will play Weston, a reporter who arrives in Greylock, New Hamphsire to chronicle the life and times of the new nation. Other cast include Izabella Alvarez, Nia Holloway, Hope Lauren Luke Mitchell, Ian Duff, Landry Bender, and Forrest Goodluck.
Jeffrey Paul King writes and will also executive produce. Jeffrey Paul King, Marc Webb, CBS Studios and studio-based Fulwell 73 produce. The Republic of Sarah has been in development for several years previously being developed for CBS with Sarah Drew as lead. The show then went through a cast change and was moved to the CW.
