Tom Cavanagh & Carlos Valdes Exit THE FLASH

It is official Tom Cavanagh and Carlos Valdes two of the original cast of CW’s The Flash will be exiting the show at the end of Season 7.

Cavanagh had quietly signalled his intent to leave before the pandemic ended production on The Flash back in February 2020. He has so far only appeared in the first 3 episodes of “season 7” which were really the end of season 6. It seems that while both will no longer be regulars there is the possibility of them guest starring. Cavanagh was known for playing Eobard Thawne/Reverse Flash as well as a variety of incarnations of Harrison Wells.

Valdes starred as Cisco Ramon, an engineering genius and core member of S.T.A.R. labs along with Dr. Harrison Wells (Cavanagh) and Dr. Caitlin Snow (Panabaker). The team who helped Barry Allen (Gustin) wake from his coma and cope with his superpowers. Cisco goes on to develop meta powers of his own and helps the Flash in the field calling himself Vibe. He also portrayed alternate versions of Cisco from different Earths during his time on the show.

The Flash executive producer/showrunner Eric Wallace released the following statement.

“Tom and Carlos have been an integral part of our show for seven seasons, and will be greatly missed. Both are incredible talents who created beloved characters that fans and audiences around the world have come to love. Which is why we are happily keeping the door open for return appearances.”
