The CW continues to solidify next season’s schedule by handing renewals to their incredibly well received drama Kung Fu and Stargirl.

Even for the CW Network these renewals come early, for Kung Fu only four episodes have aired and in the case of Stargirl season two has not even aired yet. Stargirl Season Two will premiere on Tuesday 10 August after being pushed back from an earlier premiere date.

CW CEO Mark Pedowitz said in a statement:
“We are beyond proud to continue to share the stories of Nicky Shen and Courtney Whitmore, two strong, powerful young women at the center of this new generation of hit shows for The CW. While each boasts remarkable talent on both sides of the camera, Kung Fu and DC’s Stargirl have not only treated fans to some visually stunning action and high-flying heroics, but they also both strike very powerful emotional chords as they delve into the family dynamics and personal relationships at their core, and we are so excited to see what happens next.”
Kung Fu gets an average of 1.22 million views per week (in Live+Same Day numbers) and it is the third most-watched series this year for the CW behind Walker and Superman and Lois.
DC’s Stargirl first season 1.22 million total viewers, marking The CW’s most watched out-of-season launch in six years.
