Global Fall Preview – FAMILY LAW

Let’s take a look at one of the original scripted shows coming to Global this Fall, Family Law.

Set in Vancouver, Canada, the show follows lawyer and recovering alcoholic Abigail ‘Abby’ Bianchi(Jewel Staite). She is struggling to put her career and family back together after hitting rock bottom. As a condition of her probation, Abby joins her estranged father’s (Victor Garber) firm Svensson and Associates. She must practice in family law for the first time while forging new relationships with the half-brother (Zach Smadu) and half-sister (Genelle Williams) whom she’s never met.

Lauren Holly also stars as Joanne Kowalski, Abby’s mother and Harry’s first wife. The result is a dysfunctional law firm operating to help other families with their own dysfunctions.

Family Law is produced by SEVEN24 Films (Heartland, JANN) and Lark Productions (Motive, Fortunate Son), with Susin Nielsen (Robson Arms, Cedar Cove) serving as executive producer/showrunner. The show stars Jewel Staite, Victor Garber, Zach Smadu, Genelle Williams, Lauren Holly, Luke Camilleri, Bobbi Charlton, Brett Kelly, Eden Summer Gilmore, Brenden Sunderland, Yvonne Chapman, Ali Liebert and Kelly Ogmundson.

Family Law comes to Thursdays at 8 p.m. this Fall on Global.
