NETFLIX IN YOUR NEIGHBOURHOOD Website Launched

Netflix In Your Neighbourhood is a new online resource that allows you to learn more about Netflix series created in Canada.

How It Works

This is a fun website for fans of Canadian shows both local and international. Heading to the site and you are presented with a list of Netflix Originals. From there you have two options able to either learn more about that series or see where it was filmed.

The ‘About’ choice offers more than just a summary. Along with that there is information about the filming locations as well as insights from the cast and crew about the location.

The streaming giant will update the website on a quarterly basis with new films and series filmed in Canada. Netflix has filmed tons of content in Canada, in locations all across the country. From Lunenburg, Nova Scotia, to Snug Cove, British Columbia. Some Netflix original fan favourites are well known for their Canadian backgrounds. The Umbrella Academy was filmed in the streets of Toronto, and The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was shot in Vancouver.

“We know so many people are curious about where some of their favourite films and series are filmed. We created Netflix in Your Neighbourhood to make it easier for them to find and explore those Netflix filming locations across Canada,” a Netflix representative told CTV News Tuesday.

“We hope that as international tourism returns, this will provide visitors from abroad with a resource to discover something new about cities they may visit while on vacation here,” said the Netflix spokesperson.

Netflix says people from around the world who have seen Canadian content are more interested in visiting. Those visitors will take road trips and check out the natural Canadian landscape, as well as food, drink and more.

I’ve always wanted to see Vancouver and its major filming locations but Netflix In Your Neighbourhood has widened my horizons.
