Hallmark Media have aired their romantic comedy Make Me A Match with a lead of Indian descent.

Vivi enlists the help of an Indian Matchmaker, Raina, to change her fate in love. However, Raina’s son Boom just might be the change Vivi needed all along. This marks a major first for Hallmark with its first Indian-American lead for one of its romantic comedies. The story features Indian matchmaking which has become the subject of a number of Western documentaries and drams recently.
The romcom was filmed in Vancouver and around British Columbia. Principal photography began in March this year and included locations such as Canada Place, Science World and Stanley Park.
The film stars Eva Bourne (When Calls The Heart), Rushi Kota (Never Have I Ever) and Rekha Sharma (Yellowjackets). Hallmark viewers should immediately recognise Bourne from major roles in both Garage Sale Mysteries and When Calls The Heart. Kota recurred in hit Netflix comedy Never Have I Ever which recently released its final season, Make Me a Match marks his Hallmark debut.
