TV fans can be excused for being a little anxious about their favourite shows, When Calls The Heart has cleared up what’s happening regarding the strike.

Fans of the beloved Hallmark show know that season 10 is just around the corner but they also know that filming was set to begin on season 11 this week. The SAG-AFTRA strike along with the ongoing WGA strike has affected productions on both sides of the border. Now though, we know directly from Co-Creator Brian Bird that there is a plan in place.
Production will begin with all the Canadian writers and cast taking part. They will shoot as much of the show as possible up through November, currently the end of the shooting schedule. The message from Bird also urges fans to hope for a quick resolution to the ongoing disputes. What that message doesn’t specify understandably are the US actors and indeed writing staff that won’t be shooting.
The three highest profile American actors Erin Krakow, Ben Rosenbaum and Jack Wagner. They will not be taking part in filming as they are on strike. The plan will see their parts in any filming left out for them to come in and do once the strike is resolved.
When Calls The Heart returns for Season 10 on Sunday, 30 July at 9 p.m., Eastern, on the Hallmark Channel.
