Tatiana Maslany has booked her next starring role on TV with Amazon Studios’ The Nightbeast.
A young mother (Tatiana Maslany) who is unsatisfied with her seemingly perfect suburban life, begins an affair with the boogeyman in her son’s closet – a surprisingly sexy man called the Nightbeast. But this harmless affair she thought to be a figment of her imagination begins to have unexpected consequences, as her two worlds increasingly begin to collide in this seductive, darkly comedic tale.
So far the only casting announcement is Maslany. The Emmy Award winning actress filmed in Vancouver earlier this year, that time starring alongside Theo James in The Monkey. That was an adaption of a short story from Stephen King.
Maslany starred in Orphan Black, a fan favourite sci-fi thriller for five seasons. The role saw her portray 17 different characters throughout the series all clones central to the storyline. The breakout role earned Maslany a Primetime Emmy Award and two Critics’ Choice Television Awards. The series won a Peabody Award as well as several Canadian Screen Awards during its run.
More recently she starred in Marvel’s She Hulk: Attorney At Law on Disney+ as Jennifer Walters successful lawyer and cousin to one Bruce Banner.
Leah Rachel and Travis Jackson are writers on the project. Jamie Babit will direct, Maslany, Station26 and Amazon MGM Studios will produce.
Filming for The Nightbeast takes place in Vancouver. Principal photography runs from 11 July 2024 through until 26 July 2024.
