THE OLD GUARD 2 FINALLY Gets A Premiere Date

The Old Guard 2 finally has a premiere date on Netflix.

After The Old Guard premiered in 2020 to generally positive reviews, fans were hopeful that a sequel would be forthcoming. Now those fans hopes have been answered 5 years after the first film premiered.

Here’s the logline for the first film.

A covert group of tight-knit mercenaries with an inability to die have fought to protect the world for centuries. But when their abilities are suddenly exposed, they need to eliminate the threat of those who seek to replicate their power.

Netflix released a Behind The Scenes featurette for fans who have already waited so long.

Andy and her team of immortal warriors return to protect humanity from a formidable new enemy who threatens their existence.

The Old Guard 2 stars Charlize Theron, KiKi Layne, Matthias Schoenaerts, Marwan Kenzari, Luca Marinelli, Veronica Ngô and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Joining the sequel are Henry Golding and Uma Thurman.

The film is an adaption of the graphic novel series of the same name by Greg Rucka and Leandro Fernández, published by Image Comics.

Principal filming on the sequel ended in September 2022 in Italy. However last year some reshoots took place in Vancouver running from 7 October 2024 to 18 October 2024. Victoria Mahoney directs with Charlize Theron, Skydance Media and Netflix producing.

The Old Guard 2 premieres on 2 July 2025 only on Netflix.
