The upcoming Fire Country spinoff Sheriff Country will be filming in Toronto, not Vancouver.

The news comes with filming on the show starring Morena Baccarin (The Endgame) set to begin next month.
Sheriff Country follows straight-shooting Sheriff Mickey Fox, the stepsister of Cal Fire’s Sharon Leone, who investigates criminal activity as she patrols the streets of small-town Edgewater while contending with her ex-con father (W. Earl Brown) and a mysterious incident involving her wayward daughter.
The character of Sheriff Fox made her first appearance in Fire Country Season 2 Episode 6. Fire Country star Max Thieriot directed that episode, titled ‘Alert the Sheriff’
Her latest appearance was last week’s episode – Season 3 Episode 16: Dirty Money.
Bode Leone (Max Thieriot) and his aunt, Sheriff Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin), investigate the attempted murder of her estranged father, Wes Fox (W. Earl Brown).
Fire Country films in Vancouver so on the face of things it seems a strange choice for its spinoff to film in Toronto. The show’s profile received a boost from Baccarin’s two appearances in the mother ship. Crossovers will be harder to organise with all that distance.
Filming on Sheriff Country Season 1 will run from 05 May 2026 through to 21 January 2026
Morena Baccarin and W. Earl Brown are currently the only named principal cast for the new show.
