Mike Flanagan's new adaptation of horror classic Carrie has added Summer Howell (Time Cut) and Samantha Sloyan (The Pitt).

Carrie is a reimagining of the story of misfit high-schooler Carrie White (Summer H. Howell), who has spent her life in seclusion with her domineering mother. After her father’s sudden death, Carrie finds herself contending with the challenges of attending high school, a bullying scandal and the emergence of mysterious telekinetic powers.
The Stephen King novel first film adaptation came in 1976 starring Sissy Spacek. There was a further version starring Chloe Moretz that came out in 2013.
Mike Flanagan serves as showrunner, he returned in Febrauary to BC to begin prep on the show. While perhaps best known as a horror specialist Flanagan also seems to be the first choice for most when bringing Stephen King stories to the screen.
The writer, director and showrunner has also been involved with the following Stephen King adaptions:
- Doctor Sleep (2019)
- Gerald's Game (2017)
- The Life of Chuck (2024)
Filming for the horror will run from 16 June 2025 through to 17 October 2025 with it taking place in Vancouver.
