CBS has called it quits on two of its Canadian productions Watson and DMV.

After the death of his friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of James Moriarty (Randall Park), Dr. John Watson (Morris Chestnut) resumes his medical career in Pittsburgh as the head of the Holmes Clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders.

The show performed well in its first season but Season 2 saw both a schedule change and a lack of a major NFL game to lead in its premiere. The ratings declined and then saw the show moved to its original timeslot/

Watson Season 2 filming began on 24 June 2025 and will continue through 25 November 2025. Craig Sweeny serves as showrunner for the series. He created the series spinoff Limitless and The Code.

DMV is a comedy set in the place everyone dreads going most — the Department of Motor Vehicles — where employees are making minimum wage dealing with customers who are annoyed before they even walk in the door.

DMV also began well. It ranked No.9 among all broadcast series for CBS’ Oct. 12-19 premiere week with 10.1M Live+35 Day multi-platform viewers. The issue with the show if there was one seems to be its delayed viewers numbers. Filming for the show took place in Montreal.
