Season 2 sees Cadence return to Beechwood in an effort to confront her truth. As she digs deeper into the Sinclair family’s secrets, she uncovers the story of the Sinclair Sisters’ summer of 1999. A summer filled with first love, rivalry, and murder. Through flashbacks, the new season will follow Carrie, Penny and Bess as they navigate their own teenage summer, while also coming to terms with their past in the present day.
The Summer of 1999 is covered in the prequel book from E Lockhart, Family of Liars. Though by the sound of the synopsis it looks like this will also spend some time in the aftermath of the events of We Were Liars. Fans of the first season might not know that there is a third book in the series that was released last year – We Fell Apart.

The new cast joining this season are Josh Dallas (Manifest) as young Harris, Peyton List (Star Trek: Picard) as young Tipper, Costa D’Angelo (Tell Me Lies) as Pfeff, Parker Lapaine (House of the Dragon) as young Carrie, Elysia Roorbach (The Pitt) as young Penny, and Madison Wolfe (Mayfair Witches) as young Bess.
