MURDER IN A SMALL TOWN Gets Season 3 Renewal

Fox have handed a Season 3 renewal to Murder In A Small Town and announced a new season regular.

Adapted from characters in L.R. Wright’s Alberg Mystery series, Murder in a Small Town follows big city cop Karl Alberg. He moves to the small town of Gibsons to become its police chief. There he finds there is more drama than expected in this quiet coastal community.

After hitting it off with local librarian Cassandra Lee, Karl struggles to balance his romance with his job of solving murders, especially after Cassandra is elected to the local council.

New Blood

Peter Gallagher will join the cast of Murder In A Small Town in Season 3.

In a season-long arc, Gallagher will play Rod Finlayson, a charismatic, uber-independent, capable yet unreliable figure. His arrival at the Gibsons’ marina on his beloved boat sets up a sequence of upheavals that Alberg and Cassandra will have to grapple with.

Murder in a Small Town films in Gibsons and other locales on BC’s Sunshine Coast. Filming is currently underway it began in 20 February 2026 and will run until 2 June 2026
