Sharpen your knives, Amazon Prime Video and Blumhouse Television have wrapped filming on Slasher-Comedy Totally Killer.
Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) and Olivia Holt (Cruel Summer) star in the film. In the film Jamie, whose mom Pam is terrorized by the resurgence of the Sweet Sixteen Killer — a masked maniac that slaughtered a group of teenage girls in the ‘80s. With the help of her friend Amelia, she travels back in time to 1987 and teams up with the teen version of her mom (Holt) to try and stop the killer.
Shipka plays Jamie, Kelcey Mawema plays Amelia with Julie Bowen playing adult Pam. The film also stars Randall Park, Lochlyn Munro, Troy Leigh-Anne Johnson, Charlie Gillespie, Stephi Chin-Salvo, Anna Diaz, Jeremy Monn-Djasgnar, Ella Choi, Liana Liberato, Nathaniel Appiah, and Jonathan Potts.
Nahnatchka Khan directs a screenplay from Jen D’Angelo. The film is based on an original script by David Matalon and Sasha Perl-Raver.
Quite A Combination
Khan had this to say about the film’s appeal:
“The idea of a horror-comedy time travel movie is, I’m gonna be honest, something I never thought of in my life. So when I was approached by the amazing creatives at Blumhouse and Amazon about Totally Killer, it was just so unique and exciting I had to be involved. And then add this incredible cast on top of that? Everybody get readyyyyyyy.”
Totally Killer is part of the Blumhouse Television/Amazon Prime Video 2018 deal for eight films. Jason Blum producers with Adam Hendricks and Greg Gilreath.
Holt was last seen in Freeform’s Cruel Summer, a show that created an incredible amount of social media buzz. Long after the first season ended it was then revealed that the show would be an anthology series. One with a completely new cast offering fans no closure on the story so far.
Shipka was last seen as Sabrina Spellman making her long awaited crossover appearance on the CW’s Riverdale. Fans had been clamouring for Shipka who played Sabrina on Netflix’ Chilling Adventures of Sabrina to appear for years.
Totally Killer finished principal filming in June, there is currently no release date.
