Orphan Black: Echoes began filming this week in Toronto with Krysten Ritter (Marvel’s Jessica Jones) starring.

AMC Studios are behind this new instalment in the world of Orphan Black. The original show ran from 2013 until 2017 and consisted of 5 seasons. It starred Tatiana Maslany currently on our screens playing Jennifer Walters aka She-Hulk: Attorney At Law. That show followed Sarah Manning, a young woman who discovers that she is one of several identical clones throughout North America and Europe.
Orphan Black: Echoes takes place in the near future and explores the scientific manipulation of human existence. It follows a group of women — one of them Lucy played by Ritter — as they weave their way into each other’s lives and embark on a thrilling journey, unravelling the mystery of their identity and uncovering a wrenching story of love and betrayal.
The show has been confirmed as a spinoff and not a reboot of the original. Anna Fishko is the showrunner with Krysten Ritter as executive producer. The first season will consist of 10 episodes.
AMC have not revealed a release date for Orphan Black: Echoes but we expect it to be early 2023.
