Upcoming horror film Vicious has rounded out its cast as filming begins.
Bryan Bertino is writing and directing the project. Previously Bertino directed popular horror The Strangers, that project has a remake coming up starring Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch. Dakota Fanning (Equalizer 3) stars as Polly.
The film follows a young woman who, after being left with a strange present from a late-night visitor, must spend the night fighting for her existence as she slips down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.
The new cast members joining are Kathryn Hunter, Mary McCormack, Rachel Blanchard, Devyn Nekoda, Klea Scott and Emily Mitchell.
Blanchard recently appeared in Prime Video’s The Summer I Turned Pretty. She starred in Clueless and adaption of the film of the same name. McCormack is a veteran actor with 30 years of experience. Most recently she starred in Stephen Amell’s Heels where she played Willie Day. Emily Mitchell played young Priscilla Presley in the recent Priscilla biopic
Klea Scott starred in likely one of the greatest Canadian TV series that no one outside the country has heard of Intelligence (2005). Kathryn Hunter most recently played Swinney in Oscar-nominated Poor Things and Eedy Karn on Disney+ show Andor. Nekoda is an actress on the rise recently appeared in Scream VI. Netflix fans will recognise the actress from Ginny & Georgia.
Filming began on 22 March 2024 in Ottawa and will run until 10 May 2024. Richard Suckle produces with Melinda Whitaker set as Executive Producer. Atlas Entertainment and Paramount Pictures are producing the film.
Vicious will premiere on 8 August 2024 in theatres.
