We have new casting news for the next instalment in the Star Trek franchise – Starfleet Academy.
Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will introduce us to a young group of cadets. They come together to pursue a common dream of hope and optimism. Under the watchful and demanding eyes of their instructors, they will discover what it takes to become Starfleet officers. They navigate blossoming friendships, explosive rivalries, first loves and a new enemy that threatens both the Academy and the Federation itself.
Kerrice Brooks, George Hawkins and Bella Shepard are joining the production as new cadets at the academy. The upcoming show takes place in the 32nd century the same as Star Trek: Discovery. Alex Kurtzman and Noga Landau will serve as showrunners with filming running from 26 August 2024 through to 31 January 2025.
The show stars also stars Holly Hunter with Paul Giamatti set to recur as the main villain. Secret Hideout, Roddenberry Entertainment and CBS Studios are producers on the project.
Toronto Filming
Filming will take place in Toronto at Pinewood Toronto Studios. Specifically in a mammoth purpose built two-storey Starfleet Academy set — with a mess hall, amphitheatre, trees, catwalks, multiple classrooms and a view of San Francisco’s Golden Gate Bridge. This will be will be constructed in a single contiguous space and will be the largest in Canada.
