Paramount+ UK Acquires WILD CARDS

Light hearted procedural Wild Cards is heading over the pond to the UK courtesy of Paramount Plus UK.

Wild Cards follows Ellis, a demoted detective, has unfortunately spent the last year on Vancouver’s marine unit (i.e., he’s now a “water cop”). While Toni has been living a transient life, elaborately scamming everyone she meets.

However, when Toni is arrested and ends up helping Ellis solve a local crime, the two are offered the opportunity to redeem themselves, with Ellis going back to detective and Toni staying out of jail. The catch? They have to work together, with each using their unique skills to solve crimes.

For Ellis that means hard-boiled shoe leather police work. For Toni, it means accents, schemes, and generally befriending everyone in sight (while driving Ellis absolutely nuts).

The show stars Vanessa Morgan (Riverdale) as Toni and Giacomo Gianniotti as Ellis. The series also stars Jason Priestley as George Graham, Terry Chen as Chief Patrick Li, Michael Xavier as Detective Simmons, Amy Goodmurphy as Detective Yates, Fletcher Donovan as Ricky Wilson, and Karin Konoval as Commissioner Russo.

Wild Cards Season 2 is currently airing Season 2 on CBC in Canada and the CW in the US. Guest stars for Season 2 include Marie Avgeropoulos (The 100) and Martin Sheen (The West Wing). Filming for the new season took place in Vancouver and ran from 03 September 2024 through to 17 December 2024.
