CBS Orders EINSTEIN – Filmed In Toronto

Matthew Gray Gubler (Criminal Minds) led Einstein received a season order at CBS.

Lew Einstein (Matthew Gray Gubler), the brilliant but directionless great grandson of Albert Einstein spends his days as a comfortably tenured professor. That is until his bad boy antics land him in trouble with the law and he is pressed into service helping a local police detective (Rosa Salazar) solve her most puzzling cases.

Gubler is instantly recognisable for his role as Dr Spencer Reid on the long running procedural Criminal Minds. As well as his acting Gubler has also been a model and author.

It is an adaptation of a German series written by Martin Ritzenhoff and Matthias Dinter. The German series Starred Tom Beck. The show ran for three seasons (2017 – 2019) and also starred Annika Ernst, Haley Louise Jones and Rolf Kanies.

Filmed In Toronto

Filming on the Pilot began on 27 February 2025 and ended on 14 March 2025. The show comes from Andy Breckman and Randy Zisk, known for Monk. CBS Studios produce the series. We do not know if the rest of the series will also film in Canada.
