WE WERE LIARS Set For June Premiere Filmed In Halifax

We Were Liars, the adaption of the bestselling YA novel will premiere on Prime Video in June.

The series follows Cadence Sinclair Eastman (Emily Alyn Lind) and her tight-knit inner circle. Nicknamed the Liars the group spends their summers on her grandfather’s New England private island.

The Sinclairs are American royalty. Known for their good looks, old money, and enviable bond. Things change after a mysterious accident. Cadence finds everyone, including her beloved Liars, seems to have something to hide.

We Were Liars is an award winning 2014 young adult novel by E. Lockhart.  The novel was a one off but also generated a prequel published in 2022 titled Family of Liars.

Caitlin FitzGerald as middle sister Penny Sinclair, Candice King as youngest sister Bess Sinclair and Mamie Gummer as eldest sister Carrie Sinclair.

Rahul Kohli is Carrie’s longp-time partner Ed, a Brooklyn art gallery owner who spends every summer at the Sinclair family compound.

Emily Alyn Lind as Cadence Sinclair Eastman, Esther McGregor (Ewen McGregor’s daughter) as Mirrie Sinclair, Joseph Zada as Johnny Sinclair and Subham Maheshwar as Gat.

Julie Plec and Carina Adly MacKenzie serve as showrunners on the limited series. Filming on the project ran from 30 May 2025 to 27 September 2025, taking place in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

We Were Liars consists of eight episodes and premieres on 18 June 2025.
