
Watson Season 2, the CBS medical mystery series inspired by the Sherlock Holmes mythos is now in production in Vancouver.

After the death of his friend and partner Sherlock Holmes at the hands of James Moriarty (Randall Park), Dr. John Watson (Morris Chestnut) resumes his medical career in Pittsburgh as the head of the Holmes Clinic dedicated to treating rare disorders.
The show brings the story of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. John Watson into the modern world. Though as the synopsis states events are set after Holmes’ death. We do get to hear his voice in an episode during Season 1.
Star Morris Chestnut appeared to hint at whether we may eventually see Holmes in an interview at the Monte-Carlo TV Festival.
“I will say Holmes, you know, in the mythology, does come back… and we are part of the mythology”
Watson Season 2 filming began on 24 June 2025 and will continue through 25 November 2025. Craig Sweeny serves as showrunner for the series. He created the series spinoff Limitless and The Code.

Eve Harlow as Dr. Ingrid Derian, Peter Mark Kendall as twins Dr. Stephens Croft and Dr. Adam Croft. Inga Schlingmann as Dr. Sasha Lubbock. Rochelle Aytes as Dr. Mary Morstan, the Medical Director of the hospital and Watson’s ex-wife. Ritchie Coster as Shinwell Johnson, who also acted as a spy for Morirarty.
There is no confirmation on a premiere date for Season 2.
