BACKROOMS Creepypasta Horror Starts Filming In Vancouver

A24 has begun filming Backrooms, a horror based on the story of an otherworldly endless office space in Vancouver.

What Are The Backrooms

The idea of The Backrooms began in 2011 with the release of a photograph of a large, carpeted room with fluorescent lights. The photo circulated across internet messageboards leading to its naming in a post by a user on 2019.

If you’re not careful and you noclip out of reality in the wrong areas, you’ll end up in the Backrooms, where it’s nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz, and approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms to be trapped in God save you if you hear something wandering around nearby, because it sure as hell has heard you

The film is based on a set of viral YouTube videos about the Backrooms from Kane Parsons. Kane Parsons himself is directing the project. Filming on the project takes place in Vancouver and will run from 30 June 2025 through to 8 August 2025.

After her patient disappears into a strange dimension beyond reality, a therapist is forced to brave the unknown to bring him back alive.
