Thriller KAROSHI Filming Throughout Vancouver

Karoshi, an upcoming big-budget offering from Lionsgate, has been filming around the Vancouver area.

A corporate action thriller, with a samurai twist. The story is set in a Japanese-influenced New York City and features a revenge twist. In Japanese, “karoshi” refers to an unexplained sudden death related to overwork.

Impressive Cast

Teo Yoo is a German born South Korean actor with an international TV and film career lasting over 20 years.

Isabel May recently starred in 1883 part of the highly successful Yellowstone universe. May will be seen in Scream 7 currently filming in Atlanta Georgia.

Cynthia Erivo is coming off the huge success of Wicked Part 1. The sequel to the blockbuster musical will debut before the end of the year as well.

Takehiro Hira is a Japanese film, TV and theatre actor with an extensive career. He played Iago in Othello

Filming Locations

The schedule for filming runs from 11 June 2025 through to 07 August 2025. Filming locations for Karoshi include Vancouver’s Chinatown at 35 East Pender Street.

Takeshi Doscher directs the thriller. Doscher wrote and directed Only, a grounded sci-fi pic starring Freida Pinto and Leslie Odom Jr., which premiered at the Tribeca Festival. No stranger to 87Eleven, he previously wrote an adaptation of the hit PlayStation game Ghost of Tsushima for Stahelski to direct.
