MCM Comic Con London – Friday Report

Darryl Ley 3 days ago 2 min read

It is finally here, after missing MCM Comic Con London in May Hollywood North News is back at the UK’s largest fan experience.

Critical Role

Things got started with what was arguably the biggest panel of the weekend, Critical Role. Matthew Mercer, Ashley Johnson, Taliesin Jaffe, Laura Bailey, Travis Willingham, Sam Riegel, Marisha Ray, Liam O’Brien and Robbie Daymond. Despite starting on 11am on a Friday the ICC auditorium was completely packed out.

The cast answered questions about how they approach embodying and voicing their characters, their favourite horror pop-culture inspirations, to the best ways to decompress from their jobs. They also expressed their admirations for the large number of fans in Critical Role cosplay who attended.

Charm, Chaos and Command

Anjali Bhimani, Neil Newbon, Nolan North and Benjamin Byron Davis took to the Main Stage to talk all things acting. While the guests on the panel are aware that they are mostly known as voice actors most of them believe that there is no distinction between voice acting and live action acting. With questions from Claire Lim and games the panel eventually took questions from the fans directly.

As one of the hosts during the weekend said, you can’t do everything at a Con. There is so much to do an so little time to do it. If you attended on Friday what events or activities did you get up to?
