Superman & Lois has come out strong with a season two renewal after its debut episode.
Mark Pedowitz, the CEO of the CW network had this to say about the renewal decision:
“The phenomenal multi-platform debut of Superman & Lois, which delivered for us in a big way on both a linear and streaming basis, is a testament to the creativity, hard work and dedication of the talented people who worked tirelessly in front of and behind the camera, especially in this challenging environment. We are thrilled to now have two brand-new bonafide hits in Superman & Lois and Walker, both of which have been renewed for next season along with 11 other of our shows, further positioning us for continued strength and stability for next season.”
The CW show follows the married couple as they relocate to Smallville to raise their twin teenage sons. The show stars stars Tyler Hoechlin, Elizabeth Tulloch, Jordan Elsass, Alexander Garfin, Erik Valdez, Inde Navarrette, Wolé Parks as The Stranger (aka “Captain Luthor”), Adam Rayner, Dylan Walsh and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
The special premiere event garnered an average 1.71 million total viewers and a 0.4 demo. That represents the largest audience in the slot for two years. This also becomes the second largest season premiere in two years.
The CW have an established track record of backing their shows and creators. They seem to have no plans to be getting out of the superhero game anytime soon. Even with their prospective Wonder Girl Pilot not going forward.
