Jennifer Lawrence is heading to Calgary to film thriller Die, My Love next month.
The film tells the story of a mother struggling to maintain her sanity as she battles psychosis while living in a remote and forgotten rural area. Lawrence descried the novel as reading “like Sylvia Plath, especially because it’s about a woman suffering from postpartum and cycling into madness.”
The feature is based on the book of the same name written by Ariana Harwicz the Argentinian author, playwright and documentary maker.
Lynne Ramsay (We Need To Talk About Kevin) will direct the feature. Ramsay and Enda Walsh wrote the script, Justine Ciarrocchi and Lawrence with Martin Scorsese and Andrea Calderwell are producing. Ramsay is also currently working on with Stone Mattress starring Julianne Moore, Kyle Chandler and Sandra Oh.
Jennifer Lawrence recently starred in comedy No Hard Feelings which made $83 million worldwide. She had her breakout rule starring as Katniss Everdeen in the YA series turned film series The Hunger Games. She is the youngest winner of the Academy Award for Best Actress for Silver Linings Playbook when she was 22. She won the BAFTA for Best Actress in a Supporting Role for America Hustle.
