Netflix’ live action adaption of Avatar: The Last Airbender have cast their Toph after an open casting search.
Actress Miya Cech will portray the beloved Earthbender who appeared in both the original animated series and its sequel The Legend of Korra. Toph is sassy, confident and unfiltered. For most of her life, her strength and formidable earth bending skills have been suppressed, but now on the run as the Avatar’s earth bending master she is uninhibited to become the fierce warrior she believes she is inside.
Toph is a beloved character from the franchise and the fans would have been looking to this casting with great interest. She is a central part of of Team Avatar and goes through an amazing journey alongside Aang.
Aang (Gordon Cormier) and his friends Katara (Kiawentiio) and Sokka (Ian Ousley) must save the world by defeating Fire Lord Ozai (Daniel Dae Kim) and ending the destructive war with the Fire Nation.
Avatar: The Last Airbender Season 2 stars Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, Ian Ousley, Dallas Liu, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, Daniel Dae Kim, Elizabeth Yu and Miya Cech.
Filming takes place starting next month from 7 October 2024 until 21 March 2025. Shooting will take place across the Vancouver area.
Christine Boylan and Jabbar Raisani will serve as showrunners for Season 2. Rideback, Four Factor Productions and Ice Productions are producers on the project.
