Tatyana Rose Baptiste is one of the fastest rising stars in the Canadian film industry.

Baptiste was born in Sylix territory and is part of the Osoyoos Indian Band. The actor attended York University graduating with Bachelor of Fine Arts (with Specialized Honours in Acting) from the Department of Theatre at York University in June 2022.
Her star has steadily been rising in the industry showing her extreme potential, talents and passion as a young actress. Her big opportunity came in the Christmas movie Unforgettable Christmas (2023). More recently she earned a starring role Darrell Dennis’ Sweet Summer Pow Wow. The romantic comedy follows two 17 year old indigenous Native Canadians Jinny and Riley falling in love over the summer.
Tatyana will next be seen in a Sci-Fi drama In the Blink of an Eye (2025) co-starring Kate McKinnon and Rashida Jones. I had the opportunity to interview Tatyana along with her Writer and director Darrell Dennis to talk about Summer Pow Wow and more. Tatyana comes across charming, engaging and likable on screen. She showcases an internal strength and innocence which will continue to grow and develop as her young star continues to rise in the Film and TV industry.

Tatyana Rose Baptiste:
“There were so many people I look up to in the industry. Amber Midthunder ‘Prey’ was insane You know what I mean? All these really big movies coming out, Reservation dogs, that was an amazing TV series. All those things made me, made the vision clearer and clearer that yes, we are amazing storytellers. We have stories to tell and I want to be a part of it. Hopefully someone else younger can look at this story, can look at this romcom, can look at this Sweet Summer Pow Wow and think the same thing, you know and it’s a snowball effect. And hopefully the more we are in mainstream the more of our indigenous community wants to go out and try the arts. ” – Hollywood North News
