Vancouver steps in for New Orleans for new Disney+ series Coven Academy.

Promising a mix of magic, mystery and teen drama set against the moody backdrop of New Orleans, Coven Academy follows a trio of teenage witches-in-training who are bound by destiny to guard their city against dangerous, ancient forces. Between unraveling dark secrets, mastering volatile magic, and facing off against distractingly cute rivals, they must also navigate the heartbreaks and deep bonds that come with growing up.
The show stars Tiffani Thiessen, Malina Pauli Weissman, Malachi Barton, Louis Thresher, Jordan Leftwich and Ora Duplass.
Thiessen is probably widely recognized for her recurring role in White Collar than in 90s teen comedy Saved By The Bell. Weissman starred in Netflix adaption of A Series Of Unfortunate Events as well as playing young Kara Danvers in Supergirl. Malachi Barton recently appeared in Disney’s Zombies 4 and will appear in the Camp Rock revival starring the Jonas Brothers. This is the first major role for Ora Duplass
Recurring cast include Brendon Tremblay as Alexander, Swayam Bhatia as McKenna and Keegan Connor Tracy as Tamora.
Filming on the project will begin next month in Vancouver. Principal photography will begin on 5 December 2025 and run until 5 March 2026. The pilot filmed in Vancouver’s historic Gastown area to recreate New Orleans.
