Shōgun Season 2 is set to begin filming next month and has announced two new cast members.

The show stars Hiroyuki Sanada and Cosmo Jarvis both of who will be returning for Season 2. Shōgun is a critically acclaimed drama with multiple Emmy wins in its first season.
Season 2 continues the historically-inspired saga of two men from different worlds whose fates are entwined, jumping ahead 10 years as Lord Toranaga strives to become Shōgun, the leader of Japan’s warrior class.
New Cast
New to the series are Asami Kizukawa as Aya, Masataka Kubota as Hyūga, Sho Kaneta as Hidenobu, Takaaki Enoki as Lord Ito, and Jun Kunimura as Gōda.
Filming for Season 2 will begin on 26 January 2026 and is set to run until 4 September 2026. Production will be taking place across British Columbia, last season saw the building of a set in Port Moody to stand in for Osaka at the closed-down Flavelle sawmill.
Creators Justin Marks and Rachel Kondo confirmed that scripts for all 10 episodes are now complete.
