New YA Series Camped Out Starts Production

Camped Out is a new YA show from Netflix and BBC and we have the lead cast announcement.

Three teenage slackers escape repeating a year of high school by agreeing to work at their guidance counsellors’ financially strapped summer camp, where they provide the young campers with bad advice, terrible survival skills, and abysmal role models. These “counsellors” focus less on the kids and more on their own attempts to make the summer not suck, avoid work, and wreak havoc on the luxury yacht club across the lake.

Camped Out stars Oscar Chark (Allegiance), Yuvraj Kalsi (Alert: Missing Persons Unit), Evan Mok (Small Achievable Goals). Matt Kipen is the showrunner as well as the creator and an executive producer on the series.

The writers are Matt Kippen, Anita Kapila (Sullivan’s Crossing), Kathleen Phillips (Workin’ Moms), Kayla Lorette (Wayward, Doomlands), Josh Saltzman (Moonshine), Maryan Haye (The Way Home). Allison Johnston (Children Ruin Everything) is the director.

Filming on the project is taking place in Ontario. Blue Ant Studios produces.
