Laura Bailey, Ian Alexander & John Goodman Join THE LAST OF US

Laura Bailey (Critical Role), Ian Alexander (Star Trek: Discovery) and John Goodman (Digger) will join Season 3 of The Last of Us.

The Last of Us is the live action adaptation of the bestselling video game franchise. The story begins 20 years after the collapse of modern civilization. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, getting hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone. What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal and heartbreaking journey as they both must traverse the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.

Bailey and Alexander are already a part of the The Last of Us franchise having voiced characters in the games. Alexander voiced Lev and Bailey was the voice of Abby.

Goodman plays Joey and Alexander plays Paco, a friendly duo who dub themselves “Heroes of the Highway.” Bailey plays Elizabeth, one of the leaders of the religious sect known as the Seraphites.

Bailey and Alexander join a list of actors who made the move from the game to the screen adaption. Merle Dandridge and Jeffrey Wright, who both reprised the live-action versions of the characters they voiced in the games.

Dandridge as Marlene, head of the Fireflies resistance movement, and Wright as Isaac Dixon, leader of the WLF militia in Seattle. Also we can’t forget Ashley Johnson, Bailey’s fellow Critical role member played Ellie’s mom in the Season 1 finale, voiced Ellie in the video games.

Filming on season 3 began in 2 March 2026 and will run until 27 November. The shooting takes place across British Columbia.

Season 3 will air sometime in 2027.
