Violent Night 2 Starring David Harbour Begins Winnipeg Production

Violent Night 2 is filming in Winnipeg this month as David Harbour returns to the action role.

How can the same $hit happen to the same Santa twice? After years of dishing out violent justice to the world’s worst criminals, Santa’s magic list suddenly turns on him, branding him as “naughty.” Stranded in a crumbling New Jersey mall and cut off from the North Pole, he begins to question whether he’s really doing any good—or if he’s just another angry man with a hammer.

But when a ruthless crime boss tightens his grip on the town and Christmas spirit hits rock bottom, Santa will have to confront who he’s become, why he started, and whether redemption is still possible for a guy like him. This Christmas, even Santa needs a second chance.

Update: Jared Harris (Foundation) and Joe Pantoliano (The Last of Us) have joined the cast of Violent Night 2. Tommy Wirkola will direct from a screenplay by Pat Casey and Josh Miller (who are also exec producing).

Filming will run from 2 September 2025 through to 17 October 2025 in Winnipeg.

87North founders Kelly McCormick and David Leitch are producing. Universal’s Executive Vice President of Production Development Matt Reilly and Director of Development Tony Ducret will oversee the project for the Studio.

We have a release date for the action thriller with it coming to theatres on 4 December 2026.
