Upcoming Disney+ series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has announced three new cast members.
Dior Goodjohn (Head of the Class), Olivea Morton, and Charlie Bushnell (Diary of a Future President”) are the new editions to the adaption of the best selling children’s book. Goodjohn will play the strong-willed child of Ares, Clarisse La Rue. Morton will play the loud-and-proud teacher’s pet Nancy Bobofit. Finally Bushnell will play Luke Castellan, a counselor and cool kid on the block.
Filming on the highly anticipated series adaption is already underway in Vancouver. The trio joins Walker Scobell (Percy Jackson), Aryan Simhadri (Grover Underwood), and Leah Sava Jeffries (Annabeth Chase). Riordan himself backed the casting decisions after some controversy over Jeffries casting. Walker is best known for his breakout role alongside Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project.
Rick Riordan who wrote the series will write the pilot alongside Jon Steinberg (The Old Man). James Bobin (Dora and the Lost City of Gold) is directing the pilot.
While the series does not have an official release date currently, 2023 is the likely launch time.
