We’re back and taking a look at some of the productions taking place this month in the Vancouver area.
Percy Jackson and the Olympians – Disney+
Based on the bestselling fantasy books by Rick Riordan. Production has begun on the series starring Walker Scobell (The Adam Project). The series will shoot through January 2023.
The Nanny – Netflix
Mystery series the Nanny is filming in the Vancouver area. The show follows a young nanny who moves into the home of a wealthy widower to care for his son. Soon after moving in she starts to unravel a number of secrets that can no longer be hidden. Filming is set to go through summer.
Family Law Season 3 – Global
The Global Original drama Family Law will shoot in Vancouver in August. The show follows a somewhat dysfunctional family that works together at their father’s law firm. The only show in our list that is set in Vancouver, it also boasts an all Canadian cast. Jewel Staite, Victor Garber, Genelle Williams and Zach Smadu star. Family Law airs on The CW in the US.
Schmigadoon! Season 2
The musical parody starring Keegan-Michael Key and Cecily Strong is back in Vancouver. Filming will run to July. The show follows a pair of backpackers who find themselves in a town straight out of an old time musical.
Snowpiercer Season 4
Based on the French graphic novel Le Transperceneige Snowpiercer is a dystopian tale that finds the last survivors of Earth on a train travelling around a frozen world. The show which returns for season four stars Daveed Diggs and Jennifer Connelly. Filming takes place through August.
Cruel Summer Season 2
Freeform had a major hit on their hands with the first season of Cruel Summer. That season set across three years and switching between those timelines followed the story of Kate and Jeanette. Kate the popular girl who disappears in mysterious circumstances and Jeanette the girl who takes her place.
That season was filmed in Dallas, Texas. However season two tells a new story with the show now operating as an anthology series. Production is now in Richmond BC with filming set to last until August.
