Jordan Elsass who played Jonathan Kent on the first two seasons of the CW’s Superman & Lois has left the show.
The news will come as a shock to fans of the show, there are no details other than confirmation of the exit according to TVline.com.
Here is the official statement from Warner Bros. Television released yesterday:
“Jordan Elsass has notified the studio that he will not be returning to Superman & Lois for Season 3 due to personal reasons. The role of Jonathan Kent will be recast”
Midseason Release
Superman & Lois season 3 was being held for a midseason drop along with The Flash and Riverdale two shows heading into their final seasons. Might this affect the timeline for that release and its schedule? The CW is certainly no stranger to release schedules that viewers describe as difficult to follow.

Filming Headaches?
Production will begin in less than three weeks which doesn’t leave a lot of time for a recast. . There is speculation on the reason for the actor leaving but no definitive reason has emerged and likely will not for many months.
Last season Jordan performed double duty playing Jonathan Kent and Jon-El of the Bizarro world. This new character was a major supporter of Ally Alston the primary antagonist of the season.
Elsass previously starred n Amazon Prime’s Panic and Little Fires Everywhere.
Who do you think will be cast as the new Jonathan Kent? Will you be watching Superman & Lois Season 3? The first two seasons can be streamed for free on The CW App in the US.
